Christmas Day

We spent Christmas Day at our house.  We slept in a bit and then spent time opening presents.  After breakfast and playing with some of our presents, we went outside and built a snowman.  We finished the day having dinner with Wendy, Chase, and Rex.

Clara got a mermaid Barbie, Elsa (from Frozen) doll, Legos, a finding book, apron, Shopkins, and pajamas.
Ashlyn got a fairy Barbie, Ana (from Frozen) doll, Legos, Play Dough princess castle, apron, Shopkins, and pajamas.
Owen got a train set, Mickey Mouse book, Spongebob chair, wagon, crayon set, and pajamas.
We all got Lagoon passes and Connect passes to visit various museums and other attractions throughout 2016.

Girls Day

Aubree took the girls to a new art place by our house to paint ceramics.  Aubree painted a platter, Clara painted a cereal bowl, and Ashlyn painted a mug.

Tooth Fairy

It seems our family has kept the Tooth Fairy busy this year.  Clara has lost eight teeth already!  At one point, she lost three teeth in a 24-hour period.  Ashlyn lost her first tooth about two weeks ago.

Halloween

This year, the girls have really been interested in superheroes.  They have watched a lot of the Batman animated series and the Justice League animated series.  So Clara dressed up as Wonder Woman, Ashlyn dressed up as Bat Girl, and Owen dressed up as Superman.

Fairy Forest

Jeff was reading an online article about fun things to do with kids in Utah, and he learned about the Fairy Forest in the National Forest above Kamas.  It is a place where people come and build small fairy homes, place painted rocks, etc.  Jeff didn't tell the girls where he was taking them, and when they got there, he had them put on their fairy wings and told them where they were going.  The girls absolutely loved it--and they are already talking about about going back next year and what they want to build.

Back to School

The girls are back to school.  Clara started kindergarten at Knowlton Elementary.  She loves learning and meeting new friends.  Ashlyn is going to the same preschool that Clara went to last year.

Lagoon

We got season passes to Lagoon again this year -- and we sure got our money's worth.

We were, of course, there for opening day in April.

Clara took swimming lessons this year, and she really enjoyed it, so she wanted to go to Lagoon-A-Beach a lot.

Family Art Night

Once each month, our local art center has a Family Art Night.  We love to go and make the art projects that they have, as well as do the "I Spy" game, listen to stories, and do other activities they have.

Daddy Daughter Dates

Jeff continues his tradition of trying to take each of the girls on a daddy-daughter date each month.

For this date, Jeff took both girls to the movies to see "Walking with Dinosaurs," followed by cupcakes and brownies.

Clara's first daddy-daughter date was at Red Lobster, so that is her favorite place to go.

Summer!

A few random pictures from this summer.

Clara and Ashlyn visited some princesses at Station Park.

Clara and Ashlyn really wanted to get their faces painted at Lagoon.  So they spent a few months earning money by doing chores around the house so they could pay for it.  They were so excited when they finally got to do it!

Aubree, Clara, and Ashlyn had a stand selling frozen lemonade and cookies.  It was a good learning experience for the girls, and they earned about $25.

We're glad to have good neighbors for the kids to play with.  This group had a lot of fun all summer long.
